Shanghai Apartments-Ruihua Apartments (Savoy Apartments)

The Ruihua Apartments is a heritage building located in Changshu Road by the corner of Yanqing Road, the heart of city center. The building only has one entrance on Changshu Road. It was once named Savoy Apartment and was completed in 1928. The L-shaped building is a reinforced concrete structure with art deco style.

There are two grand apartment buildings dominate the corner of a single block: the wide ranging Empire Mansions with its entrance on Huaihai M rd and the more tranquil Ruihua (Savoy) , built three years earlier, with its entrances on a sheltered courtyard. While Empire Mansions interior courtyard has now been overbuilt, the Ruihua remains an oasis of green in a now increasingly commercial neighborhood.

Although the lower floors of the Savoy lack any decorative elements, this is more than compensated by the stylish paperwork of sun, flowers and pouter pigeons up under the eaves. The building has 9^th floor with elevator, there are two units on each floor. From the window toward south, you can see a large communal garden. The Ruihua Apartment not only boasts herself by the Location and vintage look but also the high ceiling in each unit. A famous Chinese movie – (Comrades：Almost a Love Story) was filmed in the Ruihua Apartment.
